We're Cracking Up!

Do you have a project you've been meaning to do for ages, but you just keep putting it off?  That project here is our "crack" project.  *snicker*

The last few winters have been harsh, with lots of extreme temperature swings.  The house has been settling, and cracks have been forming in some of the walls.  (I promise, there's nothing wrong with the house).  The cracks are in the drywall.  I've been meaning to patch and repaint the cracks, but I just kept putting it off.

I finally dragged out the ladder, spackle and paint.  Part of the reason I kept putting this off was because it involved dragging the ladder from place to place, and climbing up and down, up and down... I spackled the cracks, and let it dry.  Then I sanded the spots down lightly.

Handy Man bought me this new little paint roller and tray.  Isn't it cute?  It was great for getting into hard to reach places, like above the window trim and below the ceiling.

Here is an awful picture of me painting the cracks at 7:00 at night, with my hair up and a ratty t-shirt on:

I painted two coats of the wall color over the patches.  This project took place over several days.
Here's the after:
I think it's time to tackle those other small projects!  I have to touch up some spots on the ceiling, and around a few doors and windows.  Do you have any projects that are making you procrastinate?

I have finally stopped procrastinating in painting our baseboard heaters and touching up our white woodwork. It is long overdue, but I've been working on it for two weeks now.

It's usually the little things that drive us crazy. And what a great feeling to have some loose ends tied up.

I'd better start my list. Thanks for the kick in the rear.

Yay for no more cracks :) We have a few little things to wrap up from our kitchen remodel. The door out to the garage needs to be painted and there are some touch up spots on the walls.

What's funny is that I do about 99.9% of my crafts in my ratty t-shirt and hair pulled back. So don't feel bad!
We just completed a project like that today; our attic door had been completely disassembled when we had our AC fixed two months ago. It was one of those unfun, but necessary projects that just had to be done.

I look the same way when I'm working on my projects. I tend to be messy at times so it's just better this way!
Your repairs look great! I've got a few I need to make myself!

Do I ever, honey if I started listing them it would take all night lol. I'm chipping away at it though.

Looks good. Can't tell at all that there was ever a crack there.

Oh we have a bunch...but we figure as long as we have a little tot running around causing 1/2 the messes, we'll wait a few more years to fix :)

great job and good for you two! That's never a favorite chore but makes all the difference in the world in a way that you hardly notice, right? I really need to get it into gear!

doesn't feel great to get those little jobs out the way, or atleast make a start on them.
Well done

I've got a million projects, but I'll tell you about them...later.

Don't worry about the ratty t-shirt. I'd think you'd gone coo-coo if you were wearing something nice!

Well what else would you wear? My "paint" clothes could tell stories! I tend to put off little things like that too, the tedious things......

Ugh, I'm a total procrastinator when it comes to small projects! I've been trying to finish up these tiny projects in my girls room for EVER now! I'm so lazy. Sigh.
Your cracks look great! Can't even see them now!
